Sara just moved to the United States from Ecuador with her family. Sara is worried because she does not know English very well. On her first day of school, she meets Riley, a Mexican-American girl. Riley knows English and she wants to get better at speaking Spanish.
Throughout the school day, Sara and Riley teach each other their native languages and share their cultures, showing the power of friendship. This bilingual story is sure to touch your heart and inspire you to embrace the beauty of different languages.

About the Founder
Daniela Palacios created Para KIDS! because she recognized the difficulties her younger brother, Xavier, faced in communicating with their bilingual family in Spanish. She began writing bilingual books in high school because she wanted her brother to grow up understanding and appreciating their family’s cultures and traditions. Daniela was raised in Newark, NJ and she is currently a sophomore at Columbia University in the City of New York. As a Latina author, founder, and social entrepreneur, Daniela is committed to helping children overcome linguistic and cultural barriers through bilingual books.
